Meet Duke, a two year old German Shepherd/Mastiff mix. He is a very sweet boy and LOVES attention, but is still in need of some training. Duke is a very strong pup and doesn't realize his size. The Burbank animal shelter thinks he should be fine with experienced kids.  Duke spent time in a foster home where he adored his foster dad and his daughter. His foster family said he was smart, affectionate, loving and loyal. They also said he was housebroken, knows basic commands, and did great on the leash!

Meet Bowie, a 4 year old black and brown Rottweiler and Alaskan Husky mix who has been at the Burbank Animal Shelter since October of 2020.

Adoptable Pet of the Week: Amy

Amy is super sweet, loving, and very high energy. While in foster care, Amy was amazing with her foster family and was wonderful with their small children. She will require an active lifestyle with someone who knows the breed and appreciates the care that is needed to help her thrive.

Adoptable Pet of the Week: Bonded Pair Racer & Honey

Racer and his partner Honey are here to prove mutts make the best pups! This pair has a little Cattle Dog, Pointer, maybe a dash of Pit Bull and Dalmatian in them. They both found themselves relinquished to the Shelter after their owner sadly passed away.

Adoptable Pet of the Week: Annie

Annie is a spayed female, brown brindle pit bull terrier mix that was found as a stray. It was obvious that she had just had puppies, however the puppies were not found with her. Annie’s owner never came forward to claim her so she is now looking for her forever home. She has been at the Burbank Animal Shelter since November 5th, 2021.

Rabid Bat Found in Burbank

On March 8th a rabid bat was found and reported outside of a home on Lincoln St. in Burbank. The Burbank Animal Shelter has been sharing advisory information to local veterinarian offices and via their social media in an effort to reach the public.  The advisory warned that anyone that may have come into recent contact with a bat should seek medical attention to check for rabies exposure.

Eagle Scout Project Educates Public on Coyote Awareness

Life Scout, Richie Collins, organized a coyote awareness campaign for his Eagle Scout Project in order to help assist the Burbank Animal Shelter in educating the public on the growing coyote issue arising in Burbank. The campaign consisted of the distribution of over a thousand copies of the Burbank Police Department’s Community Bulletin on Coyote Awareness.
