Proposed Budget Requests Per Department FY 2021-22

The Burbank City Council met virtually on Tuesday, April 27th and was the first meeting reviewing the proposed 2021-22 Fiscal Year budget. In the presentation the council was provided with details on the accomplishments and services of each department, along with their proposed budget and new budget requests. Here are the budget requests for this coming fiscal year including recurring requests and one-time requests. The next City Council meeting will be on Tuesday, May 4th, in which the proposed budget presentation will continue.

Hero Pay Presented to Council Moves to Second Step

The Burbank City Council meeting was held virtually on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 where a presentation was made regarding enactment of a local minimum wage and/or Hero Pay. The staff recommendation presented was to direct staff on whether or not to pursue increasing the minimum wage in Burbank and for Council to provide specifics. The second recommendation would be to direct staff on whether or not to bring back a Hero Pay ordinance and for Council to provide certain specifics.

The Burbank City Council met virtually on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 and began the meeting with the adjournment of retired Burbank Fire Engineer, Arthur “Art” Popkin, who worked for the department from 1964 to 1989.

This Week’s City Council Roundup: 3/16/2021

The Burbank City Council opened up their virtual City Council meeting on March 16, 2021 with the adjournment of Pete Roses who passed away in January of 2021. Roses coached football and basketball at numerous schools, worked as a one-on-one aid in Burbank middle schools, high school, and the Burbank Adult School, and was also a campus security guard for Burbank High School.

The Burbank City Council met virtually on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 and opened the meeting in adjournment of retired Burbank Fire Captain, Guy Thompson, who served the Burbank Fire Department for 33 years. Mayor Bob Frutos proceeded with some announcements to the public including an online community workshop for the Burbank Housing Element hosted by the Community Development Department on February 27th from 11:00am-12:30pm.
