Three Burbank natives, Colin Recchio, Brent Myers, and George Kalcoff, are proving that friendship, art, and community can come together to make a powerful impact.

If you have been in downtown Burbank in the last eleven years you have probably heard him sing, maybe spoken with him, shared some stories or just dropped a few dollars in his bucket. He was dubbed “The Bard of Burbank” his first day busking on the streets of Burbank and he hasn’t stopped since.

Burbank is feeling the rhythm of the 80s as The Wedding Singer: The Musical Comedy lights up the stage at the Colony Theatre through June 29.

In order to understand Don Baldaseroni and why he is by all accounts the second Mr. Burbank  we have to delve into one of Burbank’s iconic organizations.

This April 4th-12th, Burbank High School’s (BHS) Drama Department presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet in the Colony Theater.

Sitting down with Kerry I was impressed at how calm and collected she seemed in light of overseeing the operations of two successful restaurants on Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank. I imagine her composure comes from over 25 years working in the restaurant industry and being trained at Le Cordon Bleu.

JBHS student Mela Gainer was awarded first place for her compelling piece titled “Out of Water.”

Liquid Death’s concept was to go counter to all the false advertising, the use of pleasant images to sell harmful products. To flip the marketing idea on its head. Will Liked that/ He created the skull logo and became the Creative Director responsible for writing, producing, and drawing the art for social media and beyond.

Mention Eric Conner’s name in Burbank and inevitably you will get a smile. He is down to earth, personable and his energy, passion and wit imbues all he does for the Burbank arts community. Although his wife and two sons will attest that while he can recall scenes from obscure movies and all kinds of music, he can’t remember to take out the laundry.

Get ready, Burbank, comedy is taking center stage this August as Flappers Comedy Club & Restaurant rolls out one of the hottest weeks in town!
