The first thing you notice is the counter. Randall Michael Tobin will casually mention that he built that counter himself—skills he picked up in junior high school shop class half a century ago and still uses every day.

At 67 years old, with more than six decades in the business, Howard’s story is not one of arrival, but of continuity. Born into a family of performers and raised in Burbank, California, he didn’t choose acting so much as grow into it—organically, instinctively, and with a craftsman’s discipline that has sustained him through an ever-changing industry.

The Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra, the only professional orchestra in the San Fernando Valley, invites the community to a free spring matinee concert on Sunday, March 22, at 3 p.m. at Wolfson Auditorium, Burbank High School

Mention Eric Conner’s name in Burbank and inevitably you will get a smile. He is down to earth, personable and his energy, passion and wit imbues all he does for the Burbank arts community. Although his wife and two sons will attest that while he can recall scenes from obscure movies and all kinds of music, he can’t remember to take out the laundry.

Burbank’s Art In Public Places Program (APP) was established in 1992. Requiring 1% of major construction project costs be allocated towards on-site art or to a public art fund has made it possible for recognized artists to enhance public spaces throughout Burbank with sculpture, murals, and environs. To date, there are over 130 Art in Public Places pieces throughout the city.

This April 4th-12th, Burbank High School’s (BHS) Drama Department presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet in the Colony Theater.

JBHS student Mela Gainer was awarded first place for her compelling piece titled “Out of Water.”

Get ready, Burbank, comedy is taking center stage this August as Flappers Comedy Club & Restaurant rolls out one of the hottest weeks in town!

Sitting down with Kerry I was impressed at how calm and collected she seemed in light of overseeing the operations of two successful restaurants on Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank. I imagine her composure comes from over 25 years working in the restaurant industry and being trained at Le Cordon Bleu.

Across the street from the Mystic Museum is another unique Magnolia Blvd. store. When you walk into Blast From the Past you’re immediately transported. Star Wars action figures line the walls. Classic movie posters compete with Freddy Krueger masks for attention.
