The Burbank Nonprofit Coalition held their annual Back to School backpack giveaway event on Saturday, August 7 at the Burbank Community YMCA.

The Kiwanis Club of Burbank hosted a Golf Ball Drop and Family Fun Day charity event at John Muir Middle School on Saturday, July 24, to raise funds for youth in the community.

Those interested in Burbank history will be glad to know that the Gordon R. Howard Museum Complex is open to the public again.

The Family Service Agency of Burbank is seeking sponsors for their thirteenth annual Car Walk event, which will take place on June 26 and is dedicated to longtime Burbank resident, Mickey DePalo.

Rob Rodriguez and Mary Cutone are currently preparing to open the Burbank Community YMCA's Social Impact Center on June 11. The center will include social justice impact work, LGBTQIA+ resources, and foster care advocacy for youth in the community.

Life Scout, Richie Collins, organized a coyote awareness campaign for his Eagle Scout Project in order to help assist the Burbank Animal Shelter in educating the public on the growing coyote issue arising in Burbank. The campaign consisted of the distribution of over a thousand copies of the Burbank Police Department’s Community Bulletin on Coyote Awareness.

Join the first Virtual State of the School event on March 15th at 7:00pm, hosted by the newly formed Burbank Arts & Education Foundation. The event is in partnership with Burbank Unified School District (BUSD) and is an opportunity for the community to show support for public education. The event will highlight teacher and student achievements and BUSD and Board of Education initiatives.

Dave and Karrie Stewart moved with their four children to Burbank in August of 2013 from Arizona to plant a South Hills Church campus in the city, but what they started was a community movement that would touch the entire San Fernando Valley. Now over 7 years later, the Stewart family is ready to move back to their home state of Ohio and saying goodbye at their last service on Sunday, February 28th.
