The most recent meeting was brief but very productive.

A string of strange break-ins have occurred over the summer at Washington Elementary School in Burbank. In the course of three weeks, the campus has been broken into three times and the Burbank Police Department currently has the case under investigation.

It's slightly more than two hours, but much was discussed.

Dr. John Paramo will be the acting BUSD Superintendent until a permanent one can be found.

There was one highlight at the nearly three-hour long School Board meeting.

Bret Harte Elementary School is saving the planet, one banana peel at a time. Principal Martha Walter has been working with the school’s PTA, Fundraising Committee, and city departments to build a more sustainable campus including kickstarting their Kids Eco Council where students help sort food waste and divert it from the landfill.

It's a busy night at City Hall for the Burbank Unified School District board members.
