Burbank 7 El Rancho 2 (first round)

The No. 2 seeded Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and then celebrated when Katie Hooper slammed a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the game out of reach. Hooper finished 2-for-4 with four RBI’s, two runs scored and a triple while teammate Lily Winn went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Caitlyn Brooks threw a complete game five-hitter striking out 15 batters and issuing only two walks.

Colton 2 Burroughs 0 (first round)

Brice Edrington, the lone senior on the Indians squad, pitched a gem in her final game but it was not enough for Burroughs who lost at Colton in the first round of the CIF Div. 3 playoffs. Edrington threw a complete game four-hitter, allowing only one earned run, a walk while striking out four. JBHS could only muster five hits total on the afternoon. Burroughs ends its season 19-9 overall and 10-4 in league (2nd place).

Burroughs 9 Arroyo Valley 0 (wild card)

Brice Edrington threw a complete game three-hit shutout striking out six in the easy road victory. She also collected three hits on the afternoon. Delaney Nicol, Sidney Ortega and Danielle Ryan each contributed three hits with Nicol scoring three runs and Ortega driving in three runs and scoring three runs. Kaitlin Okimoto had three RBI’s as Burroughs hammered out 15 hits.
