GIRLS BASKETBALL:

No. 3 Huntington Beach 66 No. 6 Burroughs 52

The Indians fell short in the quarterfinal matchup. Davina Del Castillo scored 16 points and Paula Galicia added 10 as Burroughs finished the season with a record of 24-7 and Pacific League Champions (14-0).

No. 6 Burroughs 56 Chino 52

The Lady Indians advanced to the CIF quarterfinals with the huge victory on the road. Davina Del Castillo had a monster game with 10 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists. She hit a baseline shot with 40 seconds left to put JBHS up, 55-52. Jakarra Waddell (5 pts, 10 rbs) made a free throw in the closing seconds to ice the win. Sidney Ortega scored 19 points and Brooke Radcliff added 9.

Burroughs plays Huntington Beach at home on Saturday night at 7 pm.

No. 6 Burroughs 66 Riverside Poly 47

The Lady Indians advanced to the second round with a dominating victory. Burroughs (23-6) now travels to play at Chino on Wednesday night at 7 pm.

Sidney Ortega scored 18 points, Davina Del Castillo had 12 points, 5 steals.  Jordan Meltzer added 8 points and Jakarra Waddell had 8 points and 9 rebounds.

Knight 60 Burbank 57

The Lady Bulldogs’ season came to an end with the defeat on the road. Yazzy Sa ‘Dullah led the way as she has all season with 21 points. Sharis Ghazeri had 12 and Fatima Cisneros added 11. Burbank finished the season 18-11 overall and 10-4 in league (3rd place).

BOYS BASKETBALL:

Valencia (Placentia) 61 Burroughs 38

Indians end season 16-11 overall and 8-6 in league (4th place). Chris Hovasapian scored 13 points for JBHS.

Peninsula 69 Burbank 43

Bulldogs finish season 13-14 overall and 7-7 in league (5th place). Richard Elmoyan scored 14 points for BHS.

BOYS SOCCER:

Katella 1 No. 6 Burroughs 0

The Indians are stunned at home in a first-round upset. Katella scored in the first half and maintained the lead the rest of the match. Burroughs finishes 15-4-5 overall and league champions (11-1-2) for the second consecutive year.

GIRLS SOCCER:

Garden Grove Pacifica 2 Burbank 0 (see story)

Bulldogs finish the season 12-5-2 overall and 10-3-1 in league (2nd place)

Oak Park 3 Burroughs 0

Indians season comes to an end as they finish 8-12-2 overall and 7-5-2 in league (4th place)

GIRLS WATER POLO:

No. 1 Riverside Poly 23 Burroughs 1

Indians end season 8-16 overall and fourth place in league.
