Burbank Animal Control Officers responded to part of Bob Hope Park near the 134 Freeway on Wednesday, February 12, after receiving a call about a coyote caught in a trap. The coyote’s foot was injured so badly, officers had to euthanized the animal, according to Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.
The coyote’s foot was caught in a trap hidden in the bushes very close to the freeway, near the 2900 block of W. Alameda Avenue. It is not known who set the trap. Neither the Department of Fish and Game nor Burbank Animal Control use the type of trap set. Burbank Police and Animal Shelter officials are investigating.
