Burbank Interim City Manager Ron Davis has named Patrick Prescott Director of the City’s Community Development Department (CDD).
Prescott, who began serving as the interim director in January, has spent more than a decade working for the City of Burbank, most recently as the City’s Deputy City Planner. Prescott was selected to lead CDD following an extensive recruitment conducted by an executive search firm.
“Patrick was the top choice in December and since then has proven that he’s the leader best equipped to move the Community Development Department forward,” said Davis. “In the upcoming years, the City will need well planned economic growth to remain a vibrant place in which to live and do business. Patrick understands Burbank and is committed to effectively advancing the quality of life and economic opportunities in our community.”
The CDD director oversees a department that provides core services necessary to maintain a strong community. CDD divisions include Building; Planning; Transportation; and Housing and Economic Development.
“I’m humbled to be selected to lead this great department,” said Prescott. “We have a great team in Community Development. Our staff features a blend of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming staff who are equally dedicated to maintaining the high standards of this City. I’m certain that together we will serve our residents and businesses well.”
Prescott’s appointment to permanent Community Development Department Director is effective immediately.
