The Downtown Ice Rink has officially opened following a Ribbon Cutting Thursday afternoon in mild 80 degree weather. Mayor Bob Fruto along with Councilman Will Rogers took to the ice to check it out first hand.
The Rink in Downtown Burbank Announces 2015 Special Events
The Rink in Downtown Burbank is pleased to announce 2015 special events including outdoor ice skating, fundraising activities, and performances starting Thursday, December 10, 2015 and running through Sunday, January 3, 2016. Now in its third year and just steps away from hundreds of shops and restaurants decorated for the holiday season, The Rink makes for a joyful family outing and memorable getaway at the corner of N 3rd Street and E Orange Grove Avenue (behind Burbank City Hall). Admission is $10.00, skate rentals are $4.00, and Bobby the Seal rentals are $6.00. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 PM.

Burbank Community YMCA Fundraiser

In a day packed with family fun, $1 from each general admission ticket will be donated to the Burbank Community YMCA from 10:00 AM to 11:30 PM. Santa Claus will make a special appearance skating with kids from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, and Everyday People, Stanford University’s only Hip-Hop, R&B, Motown and Soul a cappella group, will perform at 7:00 PM. DJ No System will spin from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM, providing a festive soundtrack for Disney interpretive artist Joel Payne’s 3-D “Believable Fantasy” creation, also starting at 8:00 PM.
Learn to Skate Classes
Every Saturday
Sharpen your skating skills at weekly classes taught by Pickwick Ice instructors every Saturday. 9:00 AM to 9:25 AM will be dedicated to kids from 5 to 15 years old, with 9:25 AM to 9:50 AM reserved for adults 16 and above. Cost is $20 and includes lesson, skate rental, and same day session.
Plus, be sure to check out Downtown Burbank’s weekly Farmers Market every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM in the parking lot behind the Community Services building.
