Dr. Martin Small of Burbank passed away peacefully with his family by his side this past week, he was 88 years old.
Dr. Small was known by the Burbank community as their favorite veterinarian, mentor, and friend. He was named Best Veterinarian for several years in a row. He was honored and road in last years Burbank On Parade as the Parade honored ‘Our Heroes’ , The Burbank Association of Realtors honored Dr. Small as Citizen of the Year in 2012.
Following 40 years in a very busy private practice, he volunteered as director of the Burbank Animal Shelter for over a decade.
Dr. Small will be remembered for his compassionate and generous nature, witty personality, unconditional love, and adventurous spirit in a Celebration Service with family and friends.
He loved his sports teams, the arts, and even sky diving, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his sister, 4 children, and 13 grandchildren.
Dr. Small a member of Burbank Temple Emanuel El for the past 60 years, held the position of Temple President 1973 -1974. The Temples Rabbi John Carrier will preform the service, along with former Canter Joe Gole.
He will be reunited with his beloved wife Judy at Mount Sinai Memorial Park. Services will be held there on Thursday, February 2, at 12:30pm. The public is invited.
