On Friday, July 10, 2015, at approximately 8:22 p.m., the Burbank Police Department responded to a call of an assault which had occurred at a home in the 1000 block of Cornell Dr.

As officers responded, updated information was received, indicating the resident had been robbed. The victim, an 89-year-old female, was able to walk and talk when officers arrived. She stated she had answered a knock at her door. When she opened the door, an unknown male forced his way into her home, demanding property.
A struggle ensued, and the victim received some injuries – including abrasions and lacerations. The suspect fled, and the victim summoned assistance with her medical alert system. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Burbank Paramedics for examination and treatment of her injuries.

At this time, it is unknown if any property was actually stolen during this incident.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-9 male hispanic, approximately 30-years-old, with a medium build, wearing dark clothing. There is no information on the suspect’s last known direction or method of travel. It is unknown if he was armed with a weapon.
