Burbank Firefighters were called to the 200 block of N. Niagara Street around 6:40 on Thursday evening. Upon arrival, they found light smoke coming from the rear roof area and sent firemen both to the roof and inside to check the attic.
Not finding any fire inside the residence, they then located a fire within the exterior walls. Using rotary saws and axes, they broke the plaster away and extinguished a fire that was traveling up through walls.
Three engine companies two trucks and a rescue ambulance were required, along with Burbank’s Fire Investigator.
The cause is still being investigated and damage totals have not been totaled at deadline.
Battalion Chief Kenet Robertson was the incident commander during the call.
