Burbank firefighters received a call at 7 am Monday of smoke coming from Sardo’s Bar and Grill located in the Lakeside Shopping Center on Pass Avenue. The first call was placed by an off duty Los Angeles City Firefighter.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters reported light smoke in the interior and made entry to the restaurant to find that a small fire had started in the kitchen area. The fire was declared out at 7:15 am.
23 firefighters in total responded along with Burbank police who provided traffic assistance.
No injuries were reported and the incident is currently under investigation for cause and origin.
A sign on the Sardo’s door states that the restaurant will be closed for about week and will also need to be inspected by the Los Angeles County Public Health Department.
