Firemen Rescue Worker From Reservoir Construction Accident

Burbank Firefighters and Paramedics were summoned to the intersection of Sunset Canyon Dr. and Magnolia Blvd. Friday afternoon after a construction worker fell into a trench that had been dug for the new Burbank Reservoir.

Upon their arrival, firefighters found the man,who had suffered a major leg injury, at the bottom of a shored trench.  He had reportedly fallen 20 feet into the open trench.

Firefighters requested additional equipment with a stokes basket, ropes, and other specialized equipment.  Under the Direction of Battalion Chief Ron Barone, they hoisted the victim, stabilized him,and then transported him by rescue ambulance to the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
