Bob Hope Airport is partnering with Southwest Airlines to host a “Fly Back to School” social media contest from July 11-Aug. 6, 2012. One winner will receive a round-trip ticket, courtesy of Southwest Airlines, to fly back to his or her college or university in the fall. To be considered eligible to win, contestants must be at least 18 years of age, currently enrolled in a college or university, and list the Bob Hope Airport as either their origin or destination airport. Only one entry per contestant is permitted. The winner will be publicly announced on Aug. 14, 2012.

Those wishing to enter the contest must submit a photo of themselves wearing a sweatshirt or T-shirt from their school to the “Fly Back to School” contest app on Bob Hope Airport’s official Facebook page. Entrants must also write a caption describing their favorite thing about their college or university.

With this contest, the Airport hopes to raise awareness of the destinations and convenience it offers, particularly with regard to travelers living outside the immediate Los Angeles region. Southwest Airlines currently offers six nonstop destinations from Bob Hope Airport and 11 one-stop destinations without a plane change.

The Bob Hope Airport Train Station also offers travelers access to public transportation hubs across Los Angeles via Metrolink and Amtrak, and the Airport also offers free shuttle connections to the nearby North Hollywood Red Line Station.
