Burbank Police Department detectives are investigating a gang related shooting that occurred Thursday evening at about 5:55pm in Lundigan Park, 2701 Thornton Avenue.
Firefighters in adjacent Fire Station 13 had just sat down to eat their dinner when they heard the sound of shots fired and immediately reported it to the Police Department. The firefighters and paramedics located one victim on Naomi Street, near the park.
The victim, a 21 year-old male, was treated and transported to a local hospital, where he is undergoing surgery. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
One male was seen running from the area and entering a black 4-dour vehicle, which left westbound Thornton Avenue.
Detectives, who were on scene collecting evidence and talking to witnesses, believe this shooting to be gang related.
