The City of Burbank is extending the hours of operation at one of its designated cooling centers to provide relief from the heat wave that is now forecast to last through the weekend.
The City has already encouraged residents to seek relief from the heat by visiting either the Buena Vista Library at 300 N. Buena Vista Street or the Burbank Central Library at 110 N. Glenoaks Boulevard. The Northwest Branch Library on W. Victory Boulevard remains closed for seismic retrofitting until Spring 2013.
Now that the extreme high temperatures are expected to continue through Sunday, the City is extending the hours of operation at Buena Vista Library, which is centrally located and offers the
most efficient cooling system. The Central Library hours will remain the same.
The designated cooling centers will now be open during the following hours:

Buena Vista Library will resume normal operating hours on Monday.
