Home Again LA is proud to announce the successful renovation of its Laundry Room at the organization’s Burbank Boulevard Pantry Facility, made possible through a generous $50,000 grant from the Lowe’s Foundation.
For more than 20 years, the Pantry Facility has served as a vital resource for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, and food insecurity throughout the Burbank community and surrounding areas. During that time, thousands of community members have turned to Home Again LA not only for food and basic necessities, but also for dignity, hope, and a pathway toward stability.
The Laundry Room has long been one of the facility’s most utilized services, providing more than 300 visits each month. Recognizing the growing demand and the need to modernize the space, Home Again LA embarked on a comprehensive renovation project that has transformed the Laundry Room into a safer, more efficient, and more welcoming environment for clients.
Thanks to the Lowe’s Foundation’s investment, Home Again LA installed new commercial-grade washers and dryers, replaced flooring, added durable countertops, installed a utility sink, and completed the plumbing and electrical infrastructure needed to support a fourth set of washers and dryers. These improvements will significantly increase the organization’s capacity to serve community members, reduce wait times, and improve the overall client experience.

It is about restoring dignity, promoting health, and removing barriers that many of our neighbors face every day.”
Access to clean clothing is often overlooked as a critical need for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or living on limited incomes. Clean clothes can improve personal health, reduce the spread of illness, boost self-confidence, and help individuals maintain employment, attend school, secure housing, and participate fully in their communities. For many households struggling to make ends meet, laundry expenses can compete with essential needs such as food, rent, transportation, and medical care.
For individuals experiencing homelessness, access to laundry services can be especially life-changing. Washing clothing and bedding supports personal well-being, restores dignity, and creates opportunities for employment and housing by helping people present themselves confidently during job interviews, appointments, and interactions with potential landlords.
Home Again LA’s gratitude extends beyond the financial support provided through the grant. On September 24, a dedicated team of employees from Lowe’s Burbank Empire Center volunteered their time at the Pantry Facility, helping restock and organize food distributed through the organization’s partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Team members lifted, sorted, stocked shelves, and organized food inventory to keep the pantry efficient and welcoming for the hundreds of households that depend on these services each month.
Their willingness to serve alongside Home Again LA staff and volunteers demonstrates the true spirit of community partnership.
