A highlight of the Burbank-Burroughs Game Friday night was the presentation of the Homecoming Court for both schools on Memorial Field minutes before game kickoff.

Posing on the track while parents snapped photographs were Burroughs royalty members.

From coronation last weekend throughout spirit week, the experience has been incredible, said Burroughs Homecoming Queen Sophie Chamberlain, 17.

“There are so many people supporting you and Burroughs is so great, there is so much school spirit and I just love being a part of it,” the senior said.

Coincidentally, her mother was Homecoming Queen at a high school in Northern California, she added.

Senior Max Chamberlain, no relation to the queen, called being named Homecoming King “exciting!”

The 17-year-old said it’s been fun walking out on the field for the presentation of the court.

Across the football field, Homecoming Queen Samantha Kim, 17, was reigning over Burbank High School’s court.

She was hoping she would be named Homecoming Queen at the coronation dance last Saturday night.

“But I didn’t want to jinx it, [so] when I got it — it was so exciting!” she said.

Isaiah Torres, 17, had three words for being named Burbank High’s Homecoming King.

“It’s pretty cool!” he said.

Making the evening more special, his sister was nominated for Homecoming Princess her junior year at Burbank High School.

To celebrate after the game, both Samantha and Isaiah thought they would culminate the evening of celebration with food, they said.

“I’ll probably just go have a big slice of cake or something!” Kim said.

Torres will be celebrating with Filipino dishes, he said.

The rest of Burroughs Homecoming court included 2012 King Connor Bond and Queen Nia Johnson; Princess Marissa Rohan and Prince Brennan Flynn; Princess Maddie Aragon and Prince Marc Caraan; Princess Francesca Seta and Prince Nick Zevallos; Princess Annika Gonzalez and Prince Marvin De La Cruz.

Burbank High School’s Homecoming court were Princess Lexi Lyneis and Prince Frankie Holder; Princess Stacie Still and Prince Christopher Bradford; Princess Carolina Herrera and Prince Aiden Lopez; Princess Berly Bermudez and Prince Lorenzo Malinao; Princess Hanna Moulten and Prince Alec Agana.
