On Friday afternoon, Burbank Fire Fire Fighters along with fire companies from nearby Glendale Fire Department responded to a reported garage fire at 368 W. Spazier Avenue between Chavez and S. Victory.
The fire completely consumed the rear detached garage and quickly began to extend to the home.
A total of 45 personnel from the Burbank and Glendale fire departments worked efficiently and effectively to quickly mitigate the fire within 25 minutes.
There were no major injuries to any civilian or sworn personnel. However, the male and female homeowners suffered some minor smoke inhalation and were treated on scene by Burbank Paramedics. Three dogs and two horses were also removed safely from the yard.
Structural and content damage is estimated at $200,000 and the cause was accidental starting in an appliance.
