A man who was in the St. Joseph Medical Center ICU ward suddenly went crazy, causing staff to call police when the 22 year-old patient started to swing a fire extinguisher at employees. When officers arrived at the location, the suspect had been restrained onto a hospital bed by staff
While swinging the fire extinguisher at employees, he broke out a window in the area. A couple of employees were injured when they were struck and were checked by the ER staff. It is unknown why the suspect reacted in this manner. He was allowed to remain in the hospital under the close care of hospital security and doctors due to his medical condition and pending further investigation.
