In the first Pacific League girls’ golf match this season at Hansen Dam on Tuesday, every team was excited to get off to a good start, but it was San Marino High’s squad that proved too strong and determined as the defending league champion Titans placed first with a score of 194.
Arcadia garnered second place with a total of 211, followed by Burroughs, who came in third with a tally of 224.
Crescenta Valley was fourth after shooting 233, and La Canada was next at 243. Burbank placed sixth with a total of 313.
Leading powerful San Marino was Ada Wong, who shot a three-under-par 34. Cameron McCrary finished at 37 for the Titans, while teammate Vivian Sun capped her afternoon at 38.
The Apaches’ Annie Kong also ended her day by shooting 34, while Gabbi Lewis came in with 41. Teammate Jannell Lo carded a 43 for the second-place finishers.
Leading Burroughs, which placed fourth in league a season ago, was junior Ashley Phelps, who came home with a two-over-par 39.
Meanwhile, sophomore Annie Adachi shot a 45 for the Indians, while Bella Nava and junior Maddie Riggs each finished at 46.
Junior Raelinn Arnold closed her work with a 48 for the third-place finishers. Samantha Mazo’s 49 was dropped from the team total.
The Bulldogs’ best score was posted by Amy Tran, who shot a six-over-par 43, while Alexis Poche closed her day with a 56.
Olga-Marie Davis shot a 59 for Burbank, and Erin Tanner finished her outing with a 72.
