This week the construction fences came down around Johnny Carson park the 17.6 acre park that has been under construction for what felt like a lifetime but actually a little over a year.
The park located on Bob Hope Drive across the street from the former KNBC Studios and named after the Late Night Talk Show host Johnny Carson.
The park has totally been reworked with new walking paths, new play ground equipment, new stage, picnic areas, bridges crossing the creek, new grass and even new recycled watering systems.
The walking path around the park is illuminated with new LED lighting that lights the path throughout the night even though the park is only open till dawn to dusk.
The official opening for the park is slated for July 21st at 5Pm and the public is welcomed. Currently the park is open and there are signs saying that till the grass is fully grown the sprinklers that use recycled water might come on during the day and at anytime till grass is well grown.
