Leadership Burbank’s Class of 2026 is proud to announce the launch of its class project, New Day Laundry, a mobile laundry initiative designed to provide free, dependable laundry services to individuals and families in need throughout the Burbank community.
Access to clean clothing plays a vital role in health, confidence, school participation, and job readiness. For many residents’ experiencing financial hardship, emergencies, or temporary displacement, regular access to laundry services can be limited or unavailable. New Day Laundry was created to address this critical gap with a practical, dignified, and community-centered solution.
The New Day Laundry project will fund a custom-built mobile laundry trailer equipped with multiple washers and dryers. The trailer will be operated by The Salvation Army to expand its existing services in Burbank. New Day Laundry will complement The Salvation Army’s mobile shower program, allowing individuals to wash clothing while also accessing additional essential wraparound services.
“New Day Laundry reflects our class’s shared commitment to service, integrity, building community, inclusivity, and compassion,” said representatives of Leadership Burbank’s Class of 2026. “By addressing a basic, everyday need, this project supports dignity, stability, and opportunity for individuals and families across Burbank.”
Research and community insights show that access to laundry services is among the most limited services available to individuals in need and directly affects employment opportunities and overall well-being. School leaders have also shared that access to laundry facilities improves student confidence, attendance, and engagement by fostering equity and a sense of belonging.
Through New Day Laundry, the Class of 2026 aims to improve daily stability for individuals and families and to strengthen overall community health. The project underscores Leadership Burbank’s mission to identify, educate, and motivate current and emerging leaders in Burbank to develop ideas and solutions that make Burbank a strong, sustainable and vibrant community.
Leadership Burbank’s Class of 2026 invites the Burbank community to support New Day Laundry through donations and sponsorships. Sponsorship opportunities include branded marketing exposure through Leadership Burbank’s platforms, logo placement on the mobile laundry trailer, and direct sponsorship of washers, dryers, or essential equipment. Funds raised beyond the build cost will support ongoing operations, maintenance, and supplies to ensure long-term sustainability.
New Day Laundry provides more than clean clothes—it supports dignity, opportunity, health, and stability for individuals and families in need, strengthening the Burbank community.
