A Burbank man was arrested for allegedly stealing an iPhone and other property form the locker room at the Burbank Athletic Club on Monday, May 5.

BPD New Police Car -2Officers responded to the Burbank Athletic Club, located at 2010 Hollywood Way, at 11:20 p.m. May 5 after receiving a call that several gym members reported personal belongings stolen and one of the victims was confronting a suspect, according to Sgt. Police contacted the suspect, identified as Christopher Carrillo, age 23, at the gym. A gym manager told officers about a burglary victim who had reported his iPhone stolen earlier in the evening.

“When police called the victim’s number, the phone in the suspect’s pocket started ringing,” said Ryburn.

Carrillo was arrested on commercial burglary charges and for multiple warrants. Additionally, according to the BPD arrest log, he was also charged with possession of concentrated cannabis or hashish and for bringing drugs into a jail.

Carrillo’s bail was initially set at $120,000 but he continues to be on a no-bail hold for parole violations. He is currently being held in L.A. County Jail and is due in court May 15.
