Man Attempts To Kidnap Girl On Way To School

A sixteen year-old girl walking to John Burroughs High School narrowly escaped being kidnapped by a man who exposed himself and ordered her into his car.

According to Burbank Police the girl was walking on Keystone St. at Magnolia Blvd. around 7 a.m. Wednesday, September 19.  The suspect, who was sitting in a white 1989 Toyota Camry, exposed his genitals as the girl passed by.  He ordered her to get in his car.  The girl walked away without saying anything to the suspect. The suspect began chasing after the girl.  As she ran away from him, she was able to obtain the license number of the car.

When the girl arrived at John Burroughs High School, she reported the incident to school authorities.  The police were called, and officers responded to the area at 7:15 a.m.   Officers were able to locate the suspect near Alameda Ave. and Main Street, just block from Jordan Middle School and McKinley Elementary School.  The victim was able to positively identify him.

Youkhana John Hino, 54, a transient from Burbank, was placed under arrest for indecent exposure and attempted kidnapping.  He was booked into the Burbank Jail, with bail set at $100,000.  He is due to appear in court on September 21.

Police are asking for anyone who may have had contact with the suspect or his vehicle, to contact Detective Green at 818-238-3242.  Hino is described as 5 ft. 5 inches tall, 120 lbs., with brown hair, and hazel eyes.
