BPD police Car Logo-2At 9:20 a.m. today, March 26, Tim Stevens, age 59 and a Burbank resident was driving southbound on Victory when he experienced a possible heart attack, according to Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.

Stevens’ vehicle drifted into the northbound lane of Victory Boulevard, striking a gray Toyota Corolla. The Audi then drifted back into the southbound lanes of Victory and struck a 2013 Volkswagen stopped at the light at W. Cedar Avenue.

After striking the second vehicle, the Audi went left and sheared off a city fire hydrant and came to a stop at an electrical utility pole, explained Ryburn.

One of the witnesses ran to the Audi and pulled the non-responsive Stevens out of the vehicle and performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived.

All efforts to revive Stevens were unsuccessful, said Ryburn. Stevens had been incapacitated by the medical emergency prior to his vehicle striking the other cars.

The Corolla’s driver, a female age 23, experienced back pain and sought her own medical attention. The Volkswagen suffered moderate damage but the driver, a female age 35, was not injured.

Stevens was a member of the Burbank police’s Community Academy and his wife is a BPD volunteer, added Ryburn.

    1. A tragic event. I work very close to that location. Just a minor correction: There is no light at Victory & Cedar. You probably meant Providencia.
