The following letter was received from BUSD Superintendent Stan Carrizosa regarding the hiring of Dr. Jennifer Meglemre as the new Principal of Burbank’s Roosevelt Elementary School
I would like to report on an important announcement made at our regularly scheduled School Board meeting last night, June 16, 2011. After recruitment, screening, and interviews, we have appointed Dr. Jennifer Meglemre as our new of Principal of Roosevelt Elementary School effective July 1, 2011.
Jennifer Meglemre has served as a teacher and administrator in BUSD since 2001, first as a middle school English teacher, then as a middle school assistant principal, and most recently as our District coordinator for assessment and accountability. She has worked with teachers from kindergarten through the 12th grade in developing curriculum, creating assessments, and using all forms of data to make positive changes in their instruction.
She earned her BA degree in English from CSU Fullerton, her MA in Education from Pepperdine University, and her MA of Education Administration and Doctorate of Education from UCLA. Jennifer is a strong believer in effective personal communication that builds trust and a positive school culture, and in the power of bringing people together to work through difficult problems.
Congratulations to Dr. Meglemre and we are excited for this new chapter in the continued excellence of Roosevelt Elementary School!
Respectfully,
Stan A. Carrizosa
