FOOTBALL:

65th BIG GAME- Burbank 47 Burroughs 21 (see story)

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL:

Burbank 3 Burroughs 0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-21). The Bulldogs gain a point in the “myBurbank CUP” standings. The two teams split during the regular season. Burbank (15-6, 11-3 in league) and Burroughs (14-7, 11-3) tied for second place in the Pacific League and have qualified for the CIF Playoffs.

CIF Div. II Playoffs-

Burbank 13 La Palma Kennedy 5 (first round)

St. Margaret’s 9 Burbank 9- Bulldogs lose on games, 71-70 (second round). Burbank finishes season 15-3 overall, 11-1 in league (Pacific League co-champions)

BASEBALL:

Miles Haddad, Burroughs Class of 2013, has made the University of Pacific baseball team. Haddad was voted by the JBHS coaches as the team MVP last spring.

CROSS COUNTRY:

Pacific League finals at Arcadia Park:

(Burbank gains two points in the “myBurbank CUP” standings with the wins over Burroughs on Thursday and an additional two bonus points for sweeping JBHS in all three races this season)

Burbank boys took second behind Arcadia but upset CV, 47-63. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 5 in Division 1. Burroughs finished fourth in league.

Burbank girls claimed third behind Arcadia and CV. Burroughs girls ended up in fifth place.

The Burbank boys and girls teams and the Burroughs boys team all qualified for the CIF Playoffs.

GIRLS GOLF:

CIF Southern Section Individual Final and Women’s Southern California Golf Assn. Qualifying Tournament at the Talega Golf Course in San Clemente.

Burbank’s Irene Maemura and Burroughs’ Joany Gao each missed the next round of CIF Individual play. Maemura shot a 76 and Gao a 79. The score of 75 was the cut.
