CROSS COUNTRY:

Fastback Shootout- (Burbank)

Despite not running at full strength, the Bulldog harriers ran well at Saturday’s Fastback Shootout. In races where each athlete runs by grade level on Mt. SAC’s shorter 2 mile course, the Bulldog boys finished 9th out of 37 teams and the girls were 11th out of 44 teams in the merged results.

The boys were led by senior Ethan Moskowitz (10:24), sophomore Adam Navar (10:39), junior Enrique Vizcaino (10:42), senior Gaberiel Ellman (10:45), and freshmen Sam Gorman (11:03).

The Lady Bulldogs were led by sophomore Candela Fernandez (12:00), seniors Arlette Movsesyan (12:41) and Daisy Ignacio (13:00), sophomore Caroline Adams (13:25), and senior Taryn Stevenson (13:44)

The Lady Bulldogs lost 25-34 in a dual meet with host Valencia HS, but the Bulldogs looked strong up front, with a 1-3 finish. Valencia is a strong team, with a highly touted freshmen at the helm, so for Candela to go there and beat her was huge.
