BASEBALL:
Burroughs 1 Burbank 0 (see story) Indians gain a point in the “myBurbank CUP” standings
Burroughs 4 Glendale 1
The Indians rallied from a 1-0 deficit scoring two runs each in the fifth and sixth innings to capture the victory. Tyler Renta had two hits, a double and RBI. Cameron Rodriguez smashed a booming double off the fence to break a 1-1 tie. Anthony Robles added two hits and an RBI. Danny Bustos came on in relief and earned the win tossing four innings, giving up only two hits, no runs and no walks.
Arcadia 3 Burbank 1
The Bulldogs only had two hits in the loss. Danny Porras collected one and Camden Palmisano had the other with an RBI single. Palmisano threw a complete game allowing six hits and no earned runs on only 67 pitches.

Burbank 8 Arcadia 4
Julia Duarte went 3 for 4 with a triple, two singles, three RBIs and scored a run. Izzy Frias had two hits and scored two runs. Jazmin Orozco added two hits, an RBI and a double. Caitlyn Brooks earned the win striking out 12, walked two, allowed nine hits and four runs as Burbank remained undefeated. Leading 4-3, the Bulldogs scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to put the game away.
Burroughs 16 Glendale 3
The Indians had a nine-run outburst in the first inning and then added another five runs in the second as they coasted to victory. Aimee Rodriguez went 4 for 4 with a double, triple, RBI and four runs scored. Danielle Ryan was 2 for 2 with a home run and three RBI’s. Sidney Ortega and Kaitlin Okimoto each added two hits and two RBI’s. Delaney Nicol had two hits and scored two runs and Cheyenne Steward got the win striking out six while giving up seven hits and three runs.

A few Bulldogs competed in the San Fernando Rotary track meet at Birmingham HS on Saturday with some fine results. Chris Miranda won the pole vault, clearing 15-0 on his 3rd attempt to set a new school record. The old record of 14-9 was held by Greg Coauette and was set back in 1982. Teammate Andres Pulgarin cleared 13-6 to take 3rd. Candela Fernandez won the 800 in 2:23.18, Brennan Doyle won the 3200 in 9:47.72, and Gabe Ellman and Ethan Moskowitz went 1-2 in the 1600 with times of 4:29.44 and 4:30.12, respectively. Jonathan Afzali took 2nd in the 110HH in 15.64, while teammate Martin Swan took 4th in 16.05. Adam Navar and Sam Gorman finished 3rd and 5th in the 800 with times of 2:04.06 and 2:04.39, respectively.
