The Indians broke a 4-4 tie scoring three runs in the top of the 6th and holding off the Scorpions. Aidan Anding collected three hits while Tyler Lewis added two hits and three RBIs as the Indians pounded out 10 hits.

Burroughs 7 Serra, SD 0 (Championship)
The Indians were locked in a championship game until exploding in the 4th inning. Leading 1-0 in the 4th inning, senior third baseman Michelle Santiago hit a two-out, two-run home run over the right-centerfield fence to give the Indians a 3-0 lead. The next batter, senior outfielder Delaney Nicol, then hit a solo home run over the fence in centerfield to give the Indians back-to-back home runs and a commanding 4-0 lead.
That was enough for freshman pitcher Presley Miraglia, who scattered 4 hits to record her 8th victory on the season. The Indians tacked on 3 more runs in the 5th inning. Junior shortstop Kaitlin Okimoto had two hits on the day, and senior outfielder Kailanie Oasay also had a hit that drove in a run in the 5th inning. DJ Santos, Tori Talavera, and Destiny Velazquez also recorded hits in a Burroughs lineup that is strong throughout. The Indians are now 8-2 on the season and begin league play at Pasadena when they return from spring break on Tuesday, March 31.

Freshman pitcher Presley Miraglia started and pitched a perfect three innings to earn the win. Fellow freshman pitcher Hannah Talavera came in relief and pitched two innings without giving up a run. Talavera also hit a home run, the first of her high school career. Senior third baseman Michelle Santiago was the hitting star in the game, hitting two home runs, the second a mammoth grand slam to end the game giving the Indians the mercy-rule victory. Santiago finished with 5 RBIs in the game.

The Lady Indians exploded for 16 runs on 17 hits. Twelve different players picked up hits including five players with two apiece. Tori Talavera had a home run and 3 RBIs. Michelle Santiago had a home run and 2 RBIs and Delaney Nicol added a double and a triple and 2 runs scored. Presley Miraglia collected the win going 4 innings and striking out 6 batters.

The Lady Indians won their first round game with 15 hits. Presley Miraglia went 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs at the plate and tossed a 5 inning shutout giving up 3 hits, 0 walks and striking out 6. Delaney Nicol went 3 for 3 and scored 2 runs.

Freshman pitcher Presley Miraglia hit a walk-off no-out triple that scored Kaitlin Okimoto to give the Indians the win. West Covina came into the game undefeated at 4-0 and ranked #6 in CIF Division 1. Burroughs was trailing 8-5 going into the final inning but had five straight hits to open the inning and win the game. Kailanie Oasay opened the inning with a single. Michelle Santiago (3 for 3) followed with a double scoring Oasay to make it 8-6. Delaney Nicol singled to put runners on 2nd and 3rd and then junior SS Kaitlin Okimoto doubled to bring in both Santiago and Nicol to tie the game. Miraglia then tripled in Okimoto to win the game. Nicol had two hits on the day, with a home run and 4 RBI. Santiago had three hits and 2 RBI. Junior catcher Brianna Devellano also had two big hits on the day which sparked rallies.
West Covina 6 Burroughs 4
Burroughs had a chance to win the game in dramatic fashion again, but came up short. The Indians were led by senior CF Delaney Nicol, who went 2 for 4, as well as Michelle Santiago and Kaitlin Okimoto who combined to get on base five times and drive in three runs. Kailanie Oasay remained hot, getting two hits. The Indians left seven runners on base in a game they out-hit West Covina 8-7. Freshman pitchers Presley Miraglia and Hannah Talavera combined to scatter seven hits on the day. Burroughs is now 2-2 on the year against a really challenging schedule.
