Girls Volleyball:

Burroughs 3 Pasadena 0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-16) Indians 11-2 in league

Burroughs 3 Hoover 0 (25-22, 25-9, 25-9)

Girls Tennis:

(Pacific League singles championship)

Junior Lilit Vardanyan of Burbank defeated Arcadia’s Sharlene Song 7-5, 6-3 to win the singles title. Vardanyan also knocked out Hoover’s Sara Kim 6-1, 6-0 in the semifinals.

Burbank freshman Nicole Merrit defeated Sara Kim of Hoover 8-1 to take 3rd place.

(Pacific League doubles championship)

Crescenta Valley’s Jackie Dilanchyan and Alexa Gregorian defeated seniors Meredy Gharabegi and Elizabeth Sanchez of Burbank 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 to win the doubles title.

Girls Golf:

Burbank’s Irene Maemura fired a one-under-par 71 (fifth place) and Burroughs’ Joany Gao shot a 73 for 12th place in the CIF Northern Individuals at River Ridge GC in Oxnard. Both players advance to the next round of the CIF Individual playoffs.

CIF Playoffs- (Eastern Team Divisional)

Burroughs finished 16th with a total of 511 strokes.
