Baseball:

Burbank 8 Glendale 0

Harrison Hernandez crushed a 3-run home run over the left field fence and finished the day 2 for 3 with four RBI’s. Ricky Perez added two doubles. Angel Villagran combined with Gavin Bushey and Shawn Troy to throw the shutout. Burbank has won six straight and is now 12-7 overall, 8-1 in league.

Burroughs 6 Pasadena 4

Miles Haddad threw six innings allowing three runs on seven hits. Luis Pereyra was 2 for 3 with a run scored and Brian Pozos doubled and had an RBI for Burroughs who improved to 13-9 overall and 7-2 in league.

Burbank 13 Hoover 3

Dylan Mersola went 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI’s. Sebby Santoro had a  double and three RBI’s and Sam McKinnon hit a home run, scored three runs and added two RBI’s as the Bulldogs moved into sole position of first place. Pitchers Joey Bogenschutz and Martin Silva allowed six hits on two earned runs combined.

Arcadia 4 Burroughs 3 (11 innings)

The Indians lost a tough one when the Apaches executed a suicide squeeze to score the winning run in extra innings. Brian Pozos had a double and an RBI. Miles Haddad and Aiden Anding each had an RBI for Burroughs.

Softball:

Burbank 14 Glendale 0

Julia Duarte went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and two RBI’s including a triple. Caitlyn Brooks and Ashley Russo combined on the shutout as the Bulldogs improved to 18-1 overall and 9-0 in league.

Burroughs 15 Pasadena 0

Brice Edrington pitched her second consecutive shutout and recorded the win. Edrington got stronger as the game went on, striking out the side to end the game in the 5th inning because of the 10-run mercy rule. She finished allowing only one hit while striking out five. Michelle Santiago had a big day as she had two home runs, both of them blasts to left field. Santiago went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and four RBI’s before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the 5th inning. The Indians had 16 hits total as they improved to 15-6 and 7-2 in league.

Burbank 17 Hoover 0

Caitlyn Brooks went 4 for 4 with three runs scored and four RBI’s while throwing a near perfect game. Brooks allowed no hits, no walks and struck out 12 but an error was committed by BHS. Lily Winn went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and four RBI’s as well.

Burroughs 7 Arcadia 0

Brice Edrington threw 7 innings of five-hit ball. It was her second consecutive shutout against Arcadia. Michelle Santiago had a double and two RBI’s. Delaney Nicol had a home run in the 4th inning. Sidney Ortega also had a solo home run in the 3rd inning. Kaitlin Okimoto tripled in the 4th inning and drove in two runs.

Boys Volleyball:

Burroughs 3 Crescenta Valley 0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-13)

Shayne Beamer: 10 kills; Daniel Jacobs: 9 kills; BJ Lagmay 27 assists

Glendale 3 Burbank 0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-22)

Derian Blandon: 7 kills, 12 digs;

John You: 6 kills;

Jason Gomez: 11 digs, 14 assists

Burroughs 3 Hoover 0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-16)

Nick Van Loo led the way with 7 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks; Jonathan Fuentes and Tristan Martin both chipped in with 5 kills; Ryan Van Loo had 24 assists and 3 aces.

Claremont 3 Burbank 0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-10)

John You: 4 kills; Justin Saisirikul: 3 kills; Elijah Cowart: 13 digs; Derian Blandon: 8 digs; Ryan Garcia: 7 assists
