Tuesday, June 14, at approximately 11:55 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Chestnut Street. A 31-year-old male resident of Los Angeles was riding his red, Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Victory Boulevard when he collided with a white, Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 50-year-old male resident of Burbank. The driver of the Tahoe
was making a left-hand turn from westbound Chestnut Street to southbound Victory Boulevard. The rider of the motorcycle was ejected through the backseat window of the shown Tahoe, after the driver of the truck made a left turn from Chestnut onto southbound Victory.
Paramedics were on-scene within minutes of the collision. Paramedics treated the motorcycle rider and transported him to the County/USC Medical Center; however, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The identity of the deceased motorcycle rider is being withheld pending notification of his family. The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe sustained minor injuries from the collision.
The investigation into this collision is ongoing, so determinations relative to the cause are still pending. Anyone who witnessed the collision, or the driving of the involved vehicles leading up to the collision, is asked to contact the Burbank Police Department.
