A Burbank man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a truck turned in front of him, causing the rider to be ejected and was thrown into a side window that was in the bed of the truck.

Paramedics were dispatched at 5:00 pm Wednesday to the intersection of Griffith Park and Victory where the pickup truck made a left hand turn after coming eastbound on Victory onto Griffith Park, where the motorcycle struck the unidentified woman’s truck. Police at the scene did not believe that the motorcycle rider was speeding at the time of the accident.
When police first arrived at the scene, they assisted the rider who was now in the bed of the truck, until paramedics arrived. The rider (who was only identified as a Burbank resident) was taken to the hospital.
The motorcycle rider was speeding, one of the motorcycle police said so and if you look at the damage to that truck you would agree. There is NO way there can be that much damage and speed not being a factor. Then there is the time of day living in Burbank we all know that the sun shines so bright that at times it causes blindness while driving. Maybe he was speeding, maybe he didn’t see her, maybe he came around another car, maybe there are other possibilities. I do pray that he will be ok. It was a terrible accident, but you make it sound like the truck driver is all at fault without knowing all the facts. The police are still investigating so that just shows that there are more answers needed.
Thank you for your time
Yes, it was a tragic accident – and just that, an accident. The officer at the scene told our photographer in person that alcohol and speed were NOT factors in the crash. That is the reason we included that.
