The Burbank Fire Department put into service this week a shinny and new fully equipped Paramedic Ambulance – RA-11.
Paramedics Erick Clements & Frank Quinones where the first to go on a medical run with the new RA, which was to a Burbank resident who fell on the sidewalk, they treated her at the scene, but she didn’t need to be transported.
The new rig has state of the art equipment, horns, siren, shocks, airbags, along with a gurney, and even a
refrigerator to keep prescription medicines that require certain temperature control.
After their medical call they took their new ambulance to Saint Joseph Medical Center, to restock and be ready for the next medical run. The department and city communications will now prepare two other new ambulances that match this one exactly to replace two other aging ambulances. The older rigs have lasted several years longer than planned and have plenty of miles will be kept as backups until needed.
