The Burbank Police Department received a call at around 6:55pm of a vehicle into a structure in the 1000 block of Palm, with a person trapped inside the vehicle.
The Burbank Fire Department was immediately notified and also responded to the scene. With the help of the Burbank Fire Department, the elderly woman trapped in the car was able to free herself and was checked for injuries. Although initially complaining of pain to 911 dispatchers, she claimed she was not injured and refused transportation to the hospital.
Connie Chung, the next door neighbor told myBurbank news that her husband was out in the front of their home working on some lights along the walkway when he heard loud banging noises.
Other neighbors say they heard loud crashing sounds and came outside to discover their front lawns torn up.
It is unclear at this time what caused this incident, but witnesses say that the car was off the roadway for about 100 feet, colliding into car parked in a driveway, tearing up multiple front lawns, and eventually coming to a stop after crashing into a home.
In total, there were 2 vehicles destroyed, 4 front yards damaged, and 1 structure damaged. The Cause of this incident is still under investigation.
