On Saturday night, at about 10:55pm officers responded to the Von’s Parking Lot located at 301 N. Pass Avenue regarding “a male passed out behind the wheel.”

The reporting party gave dispatchers the vehicle license plate number during the call.   A dispatcher found the car was reported stolen out of LAPD North Hollywood.

Upon arrival, officers indeed found the male occupant “passed out” in the driver seat.  Calls to the occupant, identified as Anthony Acosta, a 23 year-old resident of North Hollywood, to exit the car were unsuccessful.  He was then assisted out of the car by officers and found to be under the influence.

A search of Acosta and the car revealed Vicodin, a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe, a pepper spray canister and ID theft documents.  A check of Acosta’s record revealed he has a prior felony conviction and thus unable to legally possess pepper spray.  He also had a drug related warrant out for his arrest.

Acosta was booked into the Burbank City Jail.  His bail was set at $60,000.  He was due to appear in court on Wednesday.
