The Burbank Police Department responded to the 1500 block of N. Lima St. Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., after receiving information that a man threatened to kill himself and others.  When officers arrived they found a man standing on his roof holding what appeared to be knives.
As a precaution, residents in surrounding homes were evacuated, and the department’s Crisis Negotiating Team responded to the location.  After about 35 minutes, the officers convinced the man to come down from the roof.  He was taken into custody by the Special Response Team.
Because information was received that the man might possibly have explosive devices in his home, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad also responded to the scene.  After a search of the residence, they found no evidence of any explosives.
