Burbank Police are investigating four reported cases of vandalism occurring overnight on Tuesday, December 31, which were reported on Wednesday, January 1. Three vehicles and one business, all located within a block or two of each other, were vandalized by the currently unknown suspect or suspects.

“The reported cases of vandalism are suspected of being related, due to the close proximities and similarities of damage to the vehicles,” commented Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.

At 6:15 a.m. on January 1, Burbank Police responded to the 700 block of N. Valley St. to investigate a silver 2014 Bentley with 3 tires slashed and a profanity scratched in the hood with a sharp object. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of a residence on that block.

At 10:00 a.m. on January 1, Burbank Police and Fire Departments were called to 4417 W. Magnolia Blvd. for a vandalized vehicle and water running down the side of the building, which houses the office of Bill Toth & Associates Real Estate. The water and gas lines had been broken on the roof of the building, so the Fire Department shut off all utilities to the building to prevent further damage, according to Ryburn, although the office’s floors inside the building had already sustained extensive damage.

A green 2014 Mercedes parked in the business’ rear parking lot was also heavily damaged from vandalism. All four of the vehicles’ tires were flat and had visible puncture marks, added Ryburn. The rear window was smashed and the trunk and driver’s side door were etched with similar profanities to the marks on the silver Bentley.

At 12:00 p.m. January 1, an additional vehicle vandalism was reported on the 800 block of N. Valley St. In that case, a gray Volkswagen Jetta, parked in a residence’s driveway, had three of its four tires slashed.

Burbank Police continue to investigate the vandalism cases, which cost thousands of dollars worth of damage to the vehicles and Bill Toth & Associates Real Estate office.
