The Burbank Police Department is warning residents about an increase in burglaries during daytime hours when many people are not home.

In the past week there has been an increase in residential burglaries that occur in the late morning and early afternoon hours.  According to police, the burglars force open windows or doors to gain entry into homes.  They typically take easily concealable items, such as jewelry and cash.

They urge residents to secure their homes when they leave for the day.  Everyone should be aware of their surroundings.  Keep an eye out for unknown occupied vehicles in your neighborhood.  If you see any suspicious activity, obtain as much information as possible about the people and/or vehicle involved, and immediately contact the police at 1-818-238-3000.
