Burbank Police have received several recent reports of vandalism on vehicles, some or all of which may be related. Seven vehicles were vandalized between January 29 and February 1, according to Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.
Overnight from January 29 to 30, two vehicles parked on the 400 block of S. Sunset Canyon Drive were both scratched with a sharp object on the hood and along both sides. The victims discovered their cars, a 2012 white BMW 7 series parked on the street and a 2013 gray BMW X5 parked in a driveway, had been damaged and called police at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 30.
Also overnight from January 29 until reported at 7:30 a.m. January 30, a 2005 black Toyota Solara parked on the 1000 block of E. Santa Anita Ave. just around the corner from Sunset Canyon, was reported with its driver’s side tires slashed and driver’s side mirror broken off.
Sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the morning of January 30, a 2009 black Dodge Charger parked on the 1400 block of N. Catalina St. was damaged. The driver’s side tires were slashed and both side mirrors were removed.
Overnight from January 31 to February 1, two separate incidents of black spray paint on vehicles were reported. At 7:00 a.m., February 1, two vehicles parked on the 1600 block of Clark Ave. were scribbled with black spray paint along the driver’s side of the vehicle. A black 2003 GMC Chevrolet and a 2005 silver Toyota Tacoma were marked unintelligible writing. Later that day at 5:00 pm., a 2007 gray Nissan Pathfinder parked on the 1100 block of N. Griffith Park Drive was reported with similar black spray paint scribbles along the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Currently, there are no suspects or suspect vehicle descriptions for any of the reported damages. Burbank Police ask for anyone who may have seen something in the reported locations and times connected with these acts of vandalism to contact the Department at 818–238-3210.
