Postman Arrested For Selling Drugs

An investigation by the Burbank Police Department into the illegal sale of prescription drugs resulted in the arrest of the United States Postal Service employee Friday morning.

Narcotics offices observed the suspect, a letter carrier for the USPS, conduct what appeared to be a drug transaction while sitting in the marked USPS delivery vehicle.  The officers contacted the man, Craig Godshall, 47, of Burbank, who was on his assigned postal route in the 600 block of N. Whitnall Hwy., at 9 a.m. Friday.

Godshall was subsequently placed under arrest for violating section 11350(a) of the Health and Safety Code, possession of a controlled substance.  He was booked into the Burbank Jail, with bail set at $10,000.  He is set to appear in court on September 14, for arraignment.

The USPS postal inspector in Burbank was notified, and responded to the scene to take possession of the vehicle, and the undelivered mail.   So if you mail was a little late on Friday, this explains it.
