Providence’s San Fernando Valley hospitals have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as Best Regional Hospitals for 2026-27, earning a combined 39 high-performing ratings for excellence in patient care.

The annual U.S. News evaluation measures hospital performance across common procedures and conditions, as well as complex and high-acuity care. Rankings and ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
Together, the three Providence hospitals received high-performing ratings across a broad range of procedures and conditions, reflecting a shared commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care. The accolades include:
- Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills: Specialty regional ranking in Orthopedics, high performing specialties in Diabetes & Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Orthopedics and high-performing procedures and conditions in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Gynecological cancer surgery, Heart arrhythmia, Heart attack, Heart failure, Hip fracture, Hip replacement, Kidney failure, Knee replacement, Leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma, Pacemaker implantation, Pneumonia, Prostate cancer surgery, Stroke

To determine the Best Hospitals rankings, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from millions of records provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The recognitions underscore Providence’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
