Working in the food industry for almost their whole lives, two brothers, Raffi and Razmik, dreamed of one day opening their own grocery store. In April of 1999, that dream became a reality. Raffi’s Market first opened its doors on Glenoaks and Alameda. It functioned as a mini market with a small selection of deli, nuts, and fresh produce. In 2012, they expanded and moved to the corner of Glenoaks and Tujunga, where it now sees hundreds of customers walk through the doors each day.
Raffi’s Market specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. It is most famous for its meat and deli departments, where a wide selection of meats are brought fresh and prepared daily, and the deli is sliced to perfection. Along with serving made-to-order barbecue, the popular pre-marinated Armenian kebabs are a specialty that customers enjoy. The broad assortment of deli meats, including Italian salami, mortadella, and other Mediterranean cold cuts, defines their individuality. The variety of cheeses, such as feta, parmigiano, and manchego, give customers a diverse selection of options. In the produce department, the high-quality fruits and vegetables are brought in fresh every day. To top it off, the freshly baked breads like ciabatta, baguette, and sourdough are a crowd-favorite.
Raffi’s Market also makes many of their own products, including earl grey tea, eggplant spread, tomato paste, coffee, dried fruits, and various salads and spreads. These products give Raffi’s Market the homemade, artisanal feel that the brand strives for.
The store is especially busy during holiday seasons. They prepare everything from turkey, chicken, barbeque, and more. With traditional family recipes, Raffi’s Market makes the holidays feel warm, stress-free, and festive for customers.
