Records Fall in Middle School Track Meet

With a rich history that goes back 80 years, breaking records are not easy when Muir, Luther Burbank and Dolores Huerta middle schools compete in the All-City track and field meet at Memorial Field.

But the 2026 version of the meet produced several meet records.
Muir Middle School eighth grader Zoe Tran set two individual records. She went 16 feet in the long jump and won the 400 meters in 1:01.34. Tran also won the 200 (28.34) and ran a leg on the winning 4 x 400 meter relay team in 4:43.05.

“I was first introduced to track in sixth grade. This year as I transition into high school, I started Burbank Vikings (track and field program),” said Tran, who plans to run track and play volleyball at Burbank High.


Eighth grader Chris Hernandez of Luther was part of two record-setting relays. He was on the 4 x 100 relay that ran 48.87 and the 4 x 400 relay team that went 4:08.09. He also won the long jump (18-1 1/2) and the 100 (12.32). He plans to play soccer and run track at Burroughs.

Sixth grader Nathan Hernandez of Luther was part of record setting teams in the 4 x 100 (55.58) and the 4 x 400 (4:46.83). He also won the 100 (13.32) and the 70-meter hurdles (11.88).

Ryker Bogh of Muir was the seventh grade boys athlete of the meet. He won the 100 (12.97), the 200 (27.75) and was on the winning 4 x 100 relay (53.44).

Danielle Ferguson of Luther was the seventh grade girls athlete of the meet. She won the 100 (13.86), finished second in hte long jump (12-8) and was on the winning 4 x 100 (57.20) and 4 x 400 relay teams (5:01.33).

Leah Aghyarian of Muir was the sixth grade girls athlete of the meet. She won the 400 (70.71), was second in the 100 (14.54). She was on the winning 4 x 100 relay (1:00.57) and the 4 x 400 (5:18.42).
