Results From Recent DUI Checkpoint Released By Burbank Police

     BurbankNBeyond was at the checkpoint Saturday, August 27 and showed some of the arrests and vehicle impounds.  Now Burbank Police have released the final stats from the night.
      The Burbank Police Department Traffic Bureau conducted the DUI Checkpoint at Olive Avenue and Maple Street in the City of Burbank. A grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration funded the checkpoint. The checkpoint was operational from 9:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and resulted in the following actions:

1352 vehicles passed through the checkpoint
1349 drivers were screened for signs of driving under the influence
14 drivers were detained for the administration of Standardized  Field Sobriety Tests
5 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence
1 driver was arrested for felony possession of illegal drugs
7 citations were issued to unlicensed drivers
1 citation was issued for driving with a suspended license
1 misdemeanor citation was issued for having marijuana in a vehicle
22 citations were issued for driving infractions
8 vehicles were impounded
